Industrial Technology Group is providing preliminary engineering and EPC pricing for a coal-fired boiler plant associated with New Energy Corporation’s 150 MM gallon-per-year ethanol plant in Hicksville, Ohio. A preliminary engineering package for the coal-fired boiler facility is required to integrate the coal plant with the ethanol plant and to determine the final configuration of the systems. ITG is working closely with Lurgi PSI and New Energy Corporation to design an integrated system that will produce the most cost effective and efficient power to operate the ethanol plant.

The project includes:
• Preliminary P&ID’s and mass balance for boiler facility
• General layouts of major equipment and facilities
• Required emissions information to submit for EPA air emissions permit
• EPC project proposal, which includes final engineering and all construction activities to build, precommission, commission, start up, and performance test the power plant
• Various coal boiler designs and types were investigated including fluidized bed, stoker, grate, and PC
• Boiler selection with preliminary design and cost estimates were provided
